This website collects very little. There is no account to make, no newsletter and no advertising. We count visits with Google Analytics, so that we know which pages are read. HubSpot, where we keep our customer records, also notes which pages are visited. The contact form sends us what you type into it, and nothing else. The booking calendar takes what we need to come to your house, and how you reached our site. Everything it does is set out below.
We do not use an advertising pixel. We do not show you advertisements or follow you to other websites. We do not have a login. We do not sell anything we learn to anyone.
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly how they found us. It tells us, for example, that a page about a town was read forty times this month. It does not tell us who you are, and we cannot look you up in it.
To do this it sets cookies in your browser, which are small files that let it recognise the same browser on a later visit. They last up to two years. It records the pages you view, the kind of device and browser you use, the website you came from, the town or city you appear to be in, and whether you tapped a phone number, pressed a booking button or sent the contact form. Google states that it does not store your IP address.
We do not use it for advertising. If you would rather not be counted, Google offers a browser add-on that switches Google Analytics off on every website, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and most browsers let you block or clear cookies.
We keep our customer records in HubSpot, and our public pages load a small piece of HubSpot's code. It sets HubSpot's own cookies, which let it recognise the same browser when it comes back, for up to about six months. It records the pages that browser views, when, and the website it came from.
While you are only reading, HubSpot does not know who you are. If you later give us your name and email address, for example by booking a visit or sending the contact form, HubSpot can connect the pages you looked at to your record, so that the person who visits your home knows which windows or doors you were reading about.
We do not use it to advertise to you or to sell your details. You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time, and HubSpot will then treat you as a new visitor. The page for changing or cancelling a visit does not load it.
Loading a web page means your browser fetches files from wherever they are stored, and whoever stores them can see the IP address that asked. On this site that is:
Apart from what is described on this page, none of them are told anything by us. They see what any server sees when a browser asks it for a file.
When you use our own booking or visit pages, we store your booking details — your name, email address, phone number, home address and chosen time — in our booking system hosted by Render. If you leave an email address about a ZIP code we do not reach, we store that request too. We use records of booking attempts to protect the form from misuse.
Our pages also note, in your own browser, how you last arrived at our site: whether you clicked a Google ad, came from a search engine, Facebook or another website, or typed our address. We keep the name of that site, not the page you were on, and never the ad's own tracking code. It stays in your browser for up to 90 days. If you book a visit, the booking form sends it with your booking so that we know which of our advertising works. We do not use it for anything else.
We keep our customer records in HubSpot, a customer-records service. When you book a visit, it receives your name, email address, phone number, home address, the time you chose and how you reached our site, and later the quotes and paperwork for your job. We use it to keep track of your project. We do not use it to send you marketing.
Resend sends the emails about your visit to you and to us. It receives the recipient's email address and the message contents needed to deliver them. The visit link in your email lets you see, move or cancel your visit. These links keep working if the main booking page is switched back to Calendly.
The site gives you an email address, two phone numbers, a contact form and a booking calendar. If you use them, we have whatever you chose to tell us — usually a name, a way to reach you back, and something about your house. We use it to answer you and to quote the work. We do not sell it, and we do not pass it to anyone who is not working on your job.
We keep it while we are talking to you and for as long as we may need it for the job or our records. If you would rather we did not, say so and we will delete it.
If you give us your mobile number — when you book a visit, when you tick the texting box on our contact form, or when you call us — we may text you about that visit. Our texts come from our two business numbers, (732) 479-7123 and (212) 235-0397. A person here types those messages: a confirmation, a reminder, a note that your Project Designer is on the way, or an answer to something you asked us. We do not send automated texts, we do not send bulk texts, and we do not text offers or promotions.
How often we text depends entirely on your visit, so there is no set number. Your mobile carrier’s message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting you; you will get one text confirming it, and nothing after that. If you want our texts again later, just tell us, the same way you did the first time. Reply HELP, or call us on either number on this site, or write to Info@windowdistrict.com, and we will help. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Agreeing to be texted is never a condition of getting a quote or having work done.
We do not share your mobile number with anyone for marketing, and your agreement to be texted is never shared with anyone, for any purpose. No mobile information is sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and that includes the fact that you agreed to be texted. The only companies that see your number are Grasshopper, our telephone service, which carries calls and text messages to and from our business numbers; your own mobile carrier, which delivers them; and HubSpot, where we keep our customer records. None of them may use it for marketing.
Write to Info@windowdistrict.com and we will tell you what we have and delete it if you want us to.
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it.
