The old door was white on white: a heavy white grille over the fixed panel, a gray screen over the panel that moved, and a frame that had chalked to the same gray as the screen. The new gliding door is black, and so are its grilles — dark bars read as lines in the view instead of a white grid in front of it. The white casing around the opening is new, and it is what gives the black frame its border.
