A replaced window is covered by two different warranties from two different companies. Almost nobody explains the difference before something goes wrong, so here it is first.
Glass seal failure, a sash that will not operate, a finish that fails — those are the product, and they are the manufacturer's to put right. The terms, the length and what counts as a defect are all theirs, they vary by series, and they change. Whoever made your window publishes them, and you should read the ones that came with your order rather than a summary of them on anybody else's website, including ours.
Everything the window is fitted into is ours: the opening, the shimming, the fixing, the sealing, the flashing, the trim. If water gets past a seal we made, or a unit moves because of how it was set, that is our work and not a product defect.
Our installation warranty runs five years, and it is written down. You get the document with your agreement, before any work starts — not afterwards, and not on request.
If you are not sure, call us and describe what is happening. We will tell you which of the two it is, and if it turns out to be the manufacturer's we will help you raise it rather than sending you away. Getting that wrong costs you weeks, and it is the most common reason a straightforward fault takes a season to sort out.
The full installation warranty comes with your written agreement. If you want to read it before you commit to anything — which is a reasonable thing to want — ask and we will send it.
